How do I pay for the purchase?

A currencies dealer who is well aware of the system in France is the best person to make the payment. Your own bank can of course do this for you, but will usually cost more than a currency dealer and may not effect the transfer properly.  

Contact your chosen dealer and he will explain what has to be done.  The major advantage in using a dealer to buy euros for you is that the rate of exchange is fixed when you make the contract with the dealer, so you know exactly how many Pounds sterling will be required for the purchase.  

Remember that a small change in the exchange rate between Sterling and Euro could otherwise cost you thousands of pounds!  Eliminate this risk by using a dealer.

Remember also that notaires do not like receiving cheques or cash - payments by bank transfer are really the best way by far.
